Another Fabulous Concert – Nika Shirocorad

It was a huge pleasure to host Nika Shirocorad’s concert at St. Cuthbert’s Philbeach Gardens, Kensington and Chelsea – London.

Nika designed and conducted a very interactive recital. She started by giving a lot of contextual information about the composers selected for the performance. He spoke about Rachmaninov prior to performing some preludes and excerpts from his most famous pieces. She also explained a bit about the compositional resources used for the creation of their pieces. We listened to Rachmaninov, Debussy, Ravel and Nika Shirocorad. Nika was particularly enthusiastic about sharing with the audience some insight into her work, Alice in Wonderland. She performed some central areas of the opera with the collaboration of Lisa, her main child soprano.

It was fabulous to see the reaction of people when they were encountered with this fantastic venue, softly illuminated and set up to highlight the presence of the piano. The usage of very little amount of light in such a huge venue enhanced the intimate effect of music and transformed this gathering into the most inspiring musical soiree.
